Beatrice Ganzzllas Hollins Leak passed away on December 08, 2025.
Funeral Service will be held December 20, 2025 at 12:00 PM with the Wake at 11:00 AM at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church - 2901 Oneida Rd., Charlotte, NC 28269
Beatrice Katherine Fonville was born on April 13, 1943, 3rd eldest daughter of William and Gleather Fonville of Sneads Ferry, NC, Onslow County. She departed this life on Monday, December 8, 2025, peacefully in her sleep.
Beatrice attended George Town High school, Sneads Ferry, NC, graduated high school in 1961 and then moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she married Thomas Ganzzllas and to that union 3 children were born.
In Beatrice’s early years, she went to Roxbury Community College, and soon after graduating, she started her education career at ABCD Head Start of Boston, MA. she remained there until her first retirement. Beatrice was very ambitious and was always determined to be her very best.
Beatrice met and married Bishop Charlie Hollins (proceeded her in death) and at the time created a blended family of 11. Yvonne, Charlene, Eileen, Charles, Tony (preceded in death), Darrell, Bryant, and Lisa (preceded in death). She became the first lady of Mt. Pleasant Holiness Church, Boston, MA. She attended Eastern Baptist Theological school and Gordon Cromwell School. While attending school part time, Beatrice taught at the New Beginnings Academy, where she found the love of teaching children of all ages. Beatrice loved to travel, she traveled to Greece, Jerusalem and Italy. She loved her “Youth Voices for Christ” Choir, she loved singing all over Boston with them, the Voices of Victory, and the Gospel Echoes. Beatrice was fully involved with her church until the time she decided to move to Charlotte, NC in 2016.
After moving to Charlotte, Beatrice wanted to get “involved” and that she did. She joined a few organizations so she could meet people and stay busy. If you truly know or knew Beatrice, one thing she has done and would do, is stay busy, all the way to her last breath; she volunteered and decided she wanted to teach again and did so with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. Beatrice also became a member of Delta Kappa Gamma while being here in Charlotte. At one of her many outings, she met Donnie C. Leak, and the rest is history. They later married and from this union, she gained two more adult children to love on, Megan Leak, and Benjamin Leak.
Beatrice is preceded in death by father, William Morris Fonville (Gleather), Sister Nora Jane Fonville, Sister, Elizabeth Priscilla Fonville Hurst, Granddaughter, Alisha Ganzzllas. She leaves to mourn her passing, Husband, Donnie C. Leak, Charlotte, NC, Sons, Thomas Ganzzllas (Angie), Anthony Ganzzllas both of Boston, MA., Daughter, Kimberly Ganzzllas, Raleigh, NC, Grandchildren, Ronica Ganzzllas (Luis), Ashleigh Miller, Boston, MA, Craig Powe, Jr, Raleigh, NC, Great Grandchildren, Liani Garcia, and Lisette Garcia, Boston, MA, Sister, Callie Mae Fonville of East Orange, NJ, Brother-In-Law, William Andrew Hurst, of Swansboro, NC, Nieces & Nephew, Amanda Sherman (Tony) of Charlotte, NC, Denise Renee Lamar (David) of East Orange, NJ, Alexnder Morris Fonville, Charlotte NC, A host of great nieces and great great grand nieces and nephews. Because of the love Beatrice has shown so many others, Beatrice leaves so many more grandchildren, great grandchildren, God children, work daughters, work grandchildren and many friends, association members, church members and lots of educators. Beatrice will be missed.
